Painting 1 is an introduction to the methods and materials of contemporary studio practice. The focus will be on learning a range of techniques in order to complete both observational and abstract projects in which there is an informed melding of composition, color and pictorial space.

Painting I Painting 1 is an introduction to the methods and materials of contemporary studio practice. The focus will be on learning a range of techniques in order to complete both observational and abstract projects in which there is an informed melding of composition, color and pictorial space.

Painting II ARTS 2020

Painting IIEmphasis is placed on individualized projects that expand on visual concepts learned in Painting 1. Students experiment with new techniques as they focus on developing self-expression in the context of contemporary movements.

Painting I & II meet concurrently so the students can participate in critiques and discussions of both groups. Students in Painting II are expected to make regular visits to galleries and museums.
