Citing Sources

MLA Style

The MLA guidelines on documenting both Web and print sources are explained in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (9th Edition), published by the Modern Language Association.

The Writing Center has a handout on citing sources using the MLA System.

APA Style

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed) covers how to cite print and Web sources in APA style.

The official APA website also provides answers to frequently asked questions and a tutorial at APA Style Help.

The Writing Center has produced a handout on documenting sources using the APA System.

Citing Sources

There are many different styles for citing your sources.

Most of the professors at CCRI require you to cite your sources using either the Modern Language Association (MLA) or American Psychological Association (APA) format.  Check to see if your professor has a preference.  Once you select a style, it is important that you be consistent in using it throughout your paper.

See the library's Citation Help guide.

Contact the CCRI Writing Center if you need help with your writing projects.
