Promotion Process for Faculty Requesting Promotions
Criteria
Promotion decisions involve a thorough review of a Faculty member’s performance and contributions to the College.
Faculty Role: At CCRI, the request for Promotion originates with the Faculty member. Faculty members need to assume that the full “burden of proof” for a positive review on their requests lies with the originating Faculty member. To assist Faculty in preparing their packets, the Faculty Request for Promotion form provides guidelines to the Faculty regarding what their narrative and packet should contain. Faculty members need to be aware of the seriousness of this process, and should assume a need to make a persuasive case.
- Incomplete packets will be returned to Faculty which may result in one’s name being removed for consideration in the current promotion cycle.
Reviewers at each level of the process may request additional information. If the requested materials are not submitted on or before the stated due date at each level of review, it may be necessary to withdraw the Faculty member’s name from the current round of review.
When the packet is complete, submit it to your Chair on or before the deadline date. Please click this linkFaculty Request for Promotion form to download a copy of the form.
